Have I got a treat for you today. I recently made these delicious chocolate chip banana oatmeal cookies for a family event and they were a huge hit. We ate every single cookie, so I knew these were worth sharing on the blog.

You are going to love the combination of bananas, oatmeal and chocolate chips with just a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. So yummy! They’re like a cross between banana bread and a chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and seriously, they are just heavenly.

If you’ve got overripe bananas, this is the perfect recipe to use them up. The browner, the better! I used three medium sized bananas for this recipe, but if yours are a different size, I’ve included the amount of mashed bananas measured in cups for your convenience.

I added chopped pecans and coconut flakes to one batch of the cookie dough and those additions were a delicious variation if you want to try them that way some day too.

I used a standard sized cookie scoop and was able to make just over 4 dozen cookies. A silicone baking mat made the cookies practically fall right off the pan. If you haven’t converted to baking with silicone mats yet, DO IT. They are so nice and I’ll never go back.
